About me
To me, design is about understanding people well enough to make complex work feel simple.
Over 15 years in research and design, including 6+ years leading teams, I have worked on products where the stakes are high and the workflows are dense: freight and logistics, retail supply chains, tax and accounting, legal research, recruitment and healthcare billing.
I started out writing code and building websites, and that engineering grounding still shapes how I partner with developers. My process is lean and iterative: research early, prototype quickly, test often, and refine for clarity and accessibility.
Outside work, I enjoy photography and journaling.

How I lead

My job as a leader is to create the conditions for strong work to happen consistently, especially when the problem is complex and the pace is fast. I set direction and align stakeholders, and I stay close enough to the work to remove friction, raise the bar and keep teams focused on what matters.
Leadership in action
- Building a team. At XPO Logistics I built the UX team from the ground up to 11 designers across North and South America, with hiring, interview and onboarding frameworks, a shared intake process and design planning, and created the LTL design system used by UX and engineering.
- Running the team week to week. Weekly critiques, one-to-ones, open design reviews anyone could join, and performance reviews that tied each designer’s growth to the work in front of them.
- Owning design decisions. On XPO’s pickup and delivery programme I was the design decision-maker for the team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Technology.
- Growing people. At Vertex I coached a team of product designers and co-created the hiring framework the UX team used to attract diverse talent.
- Setting standards. At Thomson Reuters I led the redesign of ONESOURCE Indirect Tax and helped build the tax and accounting design playbook, with accessible, WCAG-compliant patterns.

- High standards, calmly applied. I expect rigorous work and model the discipline it takes.
- Involved, not intrusive. I unblock and support the team without micromanaging.
- Trust and partnership. I am honest and consistent, which makes open debate possible.
Working with me
People describe me as calm, focused and quietly driven. I don’t lead through volume or hierarchy. I ask the right questions, set clear expectations, and stay present when things get difficult. I measure success by outcomes, not optics, and I aim to leave every team stronger than I found it.
